Beware The Ides Of October… US Hits Debt Limit On Sept 29th, 2017
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin informed Congress on Friday that action would be needed on the debt ceiling by September 29th.
“Based upon our available information, I believe that it is critical that Congress act to increase the nation’s borrowing authority by September 29, 2017. I urge Congress to act promptly on this important matter,” Mnuchin wrote in a letter addressed to Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).
The Treasury Department estimates it will run out of funds to pay its debts and interest on that date and financial markets will be watching loosely for action. If Congress fails to act, the U.S. would default.
The date falls on a Friday and coincides with the last weekday of fiscal 2017.

A recent Congressional Subcommittee on foreign affairs tore into the terror hub ignored by previous administrations that is Qatar.
But Qatar isn’t backing down from its support of accelerating horror. As Qatar takes its case to the United Nations. The very organization behind the genocidal replacement migration policies allowing Qatar funded terrorists to enter Europe undetected. Reuters reports ”
“The entire campaign represents a series of violations of international law,” Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani told reporters after meeting with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
“The state of Qatar is not going to spare any effort in order to overcome those violations and try to solve it through the right channels. The United Nations is the right platform to start from,” he said without giving further details.
Even the soccer team is promoting their emir’s proud stance on suicide bombers and random mass slaughter of civilians.
Fox Sports reports ” FIFA has fined Qatar’s soccer federation after national team players breached rules against political statements by displaying T-shirts of the country’s Emir at a World Cup qualifier.”

Tensions Rise! South Korea Now Wants More THAAD Defense Systems
In the immediate aftermath of North Korea testing an intercontinental ballistic missile, South Korean President Moon Jae-in ordered talks with the US about adding more Terminal High-Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) missile interceptor systems to South Korea.
While the move may seem like a common-sense defensive measure, it actually indicates that South Korea may be getting ready for a fight with the North.
The THAAD has a perfect record of intercepting shorter-range ballistic missiles in test conditions, but cannot handle the reentry speeds of an ICBM. Furthermore, if a missile fired from North Korea is landing in South Korea, it’s not an ICBM.
The THAAD can only block shorter-range missiles, and it does so with a powerful radar that scares the pants off the Chinese. China hates the THAAD because it fears the US could potentially use its powerful radar to negate China’s nuclear ICBM force, and thereby erode its nuclear deterrent. China routinely protests THAAD and pressures South Korea economically into giving it up.
So why would Moon take a huge political risk by increasing defences against missiles that aren’t even supposed to target his country?

Wells Fargo is in boiling hot water. Again.
One day after the NYT reported the latest major scandal involving Warren Buffett’s favorite bank, in which the bank was busted less than a year after its miss-selling fraud cost the former CEO his job, revealing that the bank charged some 800,000 customers for auto insurance they did not need (with some still paying for it), the demands for resignation have arrived.
In a statement from NYC Comtroller Scott Stringer, he demands that Wells Fargo must immediately “jump-start” necessary board change by replacing Chairman Stephen Sanger with a new independent chairperson following the latest “mismanagement” revelations.
In surprisingly harsh words, Stringer does not hold anything back against the worst performing bank stock today (WFC -2.8%):
