Klaus Eberwein, a former Haitian government official, was found dead Tuesday in a South Dade motel room in what the Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office is ruling a suicide.
“He shot himself in the head,” said Veronica Lamar, Miami-Dade medical examiner records supervisor. She listed his time of death at 12:19 p.m.

Could an Illinois bankruptcy be the catalyst for the complete loss of faith in paper currencies?
Illinois could be going bankrupt and have their debt rating fall to junk status. If the U.S. steps in and bails Illinois out, then that will shift the focus from Illinois to the currency used in the bailout: the Dollar. Faith in the Dollar could be eroded, catalyzing the demise of the Dollar and all other paper currencies, John Rubino says. Even if Illinois isn’t the catalyst, Rubino says many other states are in similar financial problems and any one of them could trigger the end of all paper currencies.

Within minutes, the hole opened up,” Land O’Lakes Fire Chief Shawn Whited said at a news briefing.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that the residents had already left for work when the hole opened up, but firefighters rescued two dogs and tried to retrieve belongings from the home.
“We got as much as we could as quickly as we could before it got too dangerous to be up there,” Whited said. “For the most part, they’ve lost everything.”

“I’m very sorry that Tepco has been prolonging making a decision,” the new chairman of Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO) Takashi Kawamura told reporters on Thursday, reported Reuters. “We could have decided much earlier, and that is Tepco’s responsibility.”
