China has been listed as a “country of particular concern” for serious violations of religious freedoms for 21 consecutive years. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is cited for using technology such as face recognition cameras and artificial intelligence to spy on religious groups. The CCP has also exported this technology to other countries to undermine religious freedoms on an international scale.
