Ms. Yang’s 24-year-old daughter Tian Yuxi contracted the CCP virus when she visited Wuhan Union Hospital on January 16 to get treated for another illness.
On the 19th, Tian developed a fever and later died on February 6.

Ms. Yang went to the local government to seek justice for her daughter, demanding those officials involved in the cover up be punished.
Consequently, she was forbidden to leave her residential compound.

On May 19, when Yang needed to go to the cemetery to place her daughter’s urns in her final resting place, she was allowed to leave her community, but local authorities dispatched eight people to monitor her during the whole process.

Yang spoke to the Chinese-language Epoch Times on WeChat to reveal what had happened to her.

I went to place my daughter’s urn in the cemetery today (May 19).
Eight people had been following me the entire time.
These eight people followed me from my community to the cemetery, where more cemetery staff joined them to watch me.

After I completed the burial service, I went grocery shopping.
A food vendor told me that he had just sold out and gave me another address nearby.
I then went to the other address.
The community guard who had been following me lost track of me.
So he immediately called the authorities to report that I “disappeared.”

Basically, I am forbidden to leave the community.
I am allowed to take a walk inside the residential compound, but I won’t be able to get out.
This is because my health barcode has been reset.
Other residents can get out when they scan their health barcode, but when I scan mine, it shows no results and the gate won’t open.

I still can scan my health barcode at grocery stores and other places.
The only place it fails is at the community entrance.

In addition, every time I try to scan my barcode at the community entrance, the guard will notice it immediately and he will call the local police.
They also make troubles for me with the nucleic acid test results.
I myself don’t care.
However, my daughter has a good friend who came to see her off from another city.
She planned to go home after we finished the burial service here.
She has taken the nucleic acid test in Wuhan.
However, the authorities did not give her a definitive test result.
Now without this test result, she cannot even leave Wuhan.

After the Chinese regime adopted a national security law for Hong Kong, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the removal of special treatments for Hong Kong. In response to the move, the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong expressed concern that many American businesses in the city could suffer.

Tara Joseph, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, said on May 30: “Many of us have lived and worked in Hong Kong for years, we love Hong Kong. We care very much about the Hong Kong people but we feel like we are collateral damage. On the other hand, the U.S.-China relationship has reached a very difficult point and that’s something we have to be realistic about.”

Trump expressed that Beijing’s push for imposing a security law breaches Hong Kong’s high degree of autonomy, and thus the city would no longer enjoy the special treatments given by the United States. Critics say the security law endangers Hong Kong’s status as a global financial hub.

Joseph said the current situation is not completely unexpected and the American businesses in Hong Kong are still waiting for more details, as no timeline was given.

“Hong Kong is a vibrant city that is very good to the American businesses,” Joseph said. She indicated that the U.S. decoupling from China is still a work-in-progress and many things are going to happen. The American businesses in Hong Kong are in a very difficult situation.

More than 1,300 American businesses have offices in Hong Kong, providing more than 100,000 jobs in total, according to Reuters.

The Chinese regime on May 28 passed a draft resolution on a national security law for Hong Kong, leading the United States to consider revoking Hong Kong’s preferential trading status and sanctioning China. Experts believe that imposing tough sanctions on Chinese and Hong Kong officials involved in human rights abuses in the city can have a deterrent effect.

The so-called “national security law” would ban acts and activities in connection to secession, subversion, and terrorism, as well as activities related to foreign interference. Moreover, Beijing’s security agencies would be allowed to set up operations in Hong Kong.

White House National Security Adviser Robert C. O’Brien warned on May 24 that Washington will likely sanction the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) if it pushes through the Hong Kong National Security Law, making Hong Kong lose its special status.
