US High School Students to Receive ‘Trauma Training’ Funded by DHS
High school-age children in the United States are set to receive “life-saving trauma training” funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in an effort to prepare them for “mass casualty events”.
The DHS has issued a $1.8 million grant to create the program, according to federal procurement documents obtained by The Young Turks (TYT) news organization.
The ‘School-Age Trauma Training’ program aims to provide “the knowledge necessary to stabilize the injured and control severe bleeding until first responders arrive on the scene”.

FBI Agent Peter Strzok FIRED Over Anti-Trump Texts
The FBI has fired Agent Peter Strzok, who helped lead the bureau’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election until officials discovered he had been sending anti-Trump texts.
Aitan Goelman, Strzok’s lawyer, said FBI Deputy Director David L. Bowdich ordered the firing on Friday — even though the director of the FBI office that normally handles employee discipline had decided Strzok should face only a demotion and 60-day suspension. Goelman said the move undercuts the FBI’s repeated assurances that Strzok would be afforded the normal disciplinary process.
“This isn’t the normal process in any way more than name,” Goelman said.
The FBI declined to comment.
The termination marks a remarkable downfall for Strzok, a 22-year veteran of the bureau who investigated Russian spies, defense officials accused of selling secrets to China and myriad other important cases. In the twilight of his career, Strzok was integral to two of the bureau’s most high-profile investigations: the Russia case, and the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state.
But when a Justice Department inspector general investigation uncovered politically charged messages that Strzok had exchanged with another FBI official, he was relegated to a position in human resources. Conservatives soon made Strzok the face of their attacks against the special counsel investigation into the president’s campaign, and the FBI took steps to remove him from its ranks.

Strzok’s position in the bureau had been precarious since last summer, when Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz told Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III that the lead agent on his team had been exchanging anti-Trump messages with an FBI lawyer. The next day, Mueller expelled Strzok from the group.
The lawyer, Lisa Page, had also been a part of Mueller’s team, though she left a few weeks earlier and no longer works for the FBI. She and Strzok were having an affair.
President Trump has derided the pair as “FBI lovers,” and he and his conservative allies have pointed to their conduct in an attempt to discredit the Mueller probe. As recently as Saturday, Trump tweeted an attack on Strzok, Page and former FBI director James B. Comey and deputy director Andrew McCabe.
“Will the FBI ever recover it’s once stellar reputation, so badly damaged by Comey, McCabe, Peter S and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page, and other top officials now dismissed or fired?” Trump wrote. “So many of the great men and women of the FBI have been hurt by these clowns and losers!”
Horowitz concluded that Strzok showed a “willingness to take official action” to hurt Trump’s electoral prospects, particularly in a text he sent telling Page “we’ll stop” Trump from being president.
Strzok, who was a deputy assistant director for counterintelligence at the bureau, has apologized for sending the messages and said they reflected personal views that did not affect his work. His lawyer has said that had Strzok wanted to prevent Trump’s election, he could have leaked that Trump’s campaign was under investigation for possibly coordinating with Russia — a revelation that might have upended his bid to become president.
At a Congressional hearing earlier this month, Strzok sparred with Republican lawmakers who raised questions about his character and even his marriage. He asserted there was “no evidence of bias in my professional actions” and that his having to testify was “just another victory notch in [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s belt and another milestone in our enemies’ campaign to tear America apart.”
Strzok was escorted out of the FBI building in June and effectively relieved of work responsibilities, though he technically remained an FBI employee as he and his attorney challenged the effort to dismiss him. On July 24, they made a final pitch to Candice M. Will, who leads the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility.

State Of Emergency Declared for Southern California’s Holy Fire
California Gov. Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for areas impacted by an aggressive wildfire burning south of Los Angeles.
The emergency declaration was issued Thursday for Orange and Riverside counties because of the so-called Holy Fire, burning in the Cleveland National Forest. The inferno has chased some 20,000 residents from their homes, and others were urged, though not required, to evacuate.

HAWAII: Ongoing Volcanic, Seismic Activity Creates Huge Cracks and Craters
Much of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park has been closed for three months due to hazards caused by frequent earthquakes triggered by collapse events at the summit of Kīlauea Volcano. Although seismicity decreased over the weekend, the temblors – more than 18,000 in the last 30 days – have wreaked havoc throughout the park. Those magnitude 5.0 and higher riddle Highway 11, other park roads, overlooks and trails with dangerous sinkholes and cracks. Did Hawaii Geothermal Plant Conduct Scalar Weapons Experiments that led to Eruption?
In part 2 of this Exonews TV interview series, Aurora Garcia discusses events she witnessed during the 24 years she lived adjacent to the Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) in the lower Puna region of the Big Island of Hawaii.
She discusses highly suspicious helicopter flights into the old volcano crater (Pu’u in Hawaiian) on the PGV property; strange sounds coming from the crater; weird temporal anomalies and orbs near the crater; U.S. Department of the Interior visits to the crater; an unexplained U.S. military presence, and a mysterious second generating plant which was built without the knowledge of Hawaii County officials.
All these strange events, along with what Aurora was confidentially told by workers at the geothermal plant, led her to conclude that earth penetrating experiments were being secretly conducted at PGV.
The synchronicity of some of these events with the Fukushima 2011 earthquake and tsunami led her to suspect that some kind of scalar weapons technology had been secretly built in the old volcano crater, and it was sending scalar waves deep into the Earth’s core.

Liberty Eclipse Exercise Focuses On Grid Syncing After “Lights Out” Cyberattack
It has been reported that the US Department of Energy is planning a hands-on test of the grid’s ability to recover from a hacker-induced blackout. This is according to E&E News.
The report states that the ‘Liberty Eclipse’ exercise will simulate “re-energising the power grid while squaring off against a simultaneous cyber attack on electric, oil and natural gas infrastructure.”
Taking place in November, the aim of the stress test is to “gain insights into how industry, with DOE support, would execute [a] response to a significant cyber incident,” according to planning documents obtained by E&E News.
According to Energy Secretary, Rick Perry, digital threats are of “vital importance” and will allow the new Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response to show what it can do.
Speaking at a security event last week, Perry said: “It’s in our national security interest to continue to protect these sources of energy and to deliver them around the world. Taking care of that infrastructure, from the standpoint of protecting it from cyberattacks — I don’t think it’s ever been more important than it is today.”
It is believed that the Liberty Eclipse exercise may highlight the grid’s reliance on natural gas, a vulnerability which DoE officials worry may be exploited. Earlier this year they warned that the US natural gas pipeline network is “difficult to protect” from physical or cyber disruption.
Others, however, believe that it is hard to pinpoint specific types of generation as being at greater risk.
“I don’t know that we’ve been able to make that judgment — remember that we don’t have perfect visibility,” Jeanette Manfra, assistant secretary for DHS’s Office of Cybersecurity and Communications, told reporters. “They’re definitely a target, [but] the electric sector has a lot of resilience built into it.”
There will be a two-day tabletop exercise ahead of the operational drill on 1 November. The operational phase will focus on ‘black start’ recovery before syncing generation with the wider grid.
During Liberty Eclipse, the DoE will incorporate simulated cranking paths provided by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, in the hopes of speeding up grid restoration following a major cyberattack.
The exercise will include replicas of substation equipment so the utility industry can rehearse how it would handle a crippling cyberattack aimed at blocking participants from restoring power.
