Wells Fargo said Monday it is clawing back $75.3 million in additional compensation from top former executives after an internal investigation of the bank’s unauthorized accounts scandal found that the ex-leaders acted too slowly to investigate allegations of “improper and unethical behavior” in retail sales practices reaching back more than a decade.

The clawbacks are among the highlights of a  report that said aggressive sales practices in the community banking division of Wells Fargo (WFC) for years distorted “culture and management performance” and “created pressure on employees to sell unwanted or unneeded products to customers and, in some cases, to open unauthorized accounts.”

Produced by independent board members of the bank along with outside legal investigator, the report blasted Wells Fargo executives for failing to properly investigate the activity, cultivating an atmosphere of unrealistic expectations and hiding information about the extent of the crisis that ultimately led to millions of dollars in fines, plus lawsuits and additional investigations.

Wells Fargo board Chairman Stephen Sanger also acknowledged in a Monday conference call with reporters that board members “could have pushed more forcefully to change leadership at the community bank.”  “I think we have taken full responsibility to ensure that changes were made to make sure this never happens again,” said Sanger.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will arrive in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss Syria with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. The visit comes as recent US strikes on a Syrian base were followed by hints of sanctioning Russia for supporting Assad.

While in Moscow, Tillerson is expected to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday, with the Syrian crisis being the key issue on the agenda. This is the former oil executive’s first visit to Russia as Secretary of State.

Russia expects a constructive dialogue free of confrontational rhetoric, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday ahead of the meeting. Moscow is willing to discuss all matters of mutual concern raised by Tillerson and is ready “for any course of events,” the ministry noted. It would, however, prefer “to work on de-escalating the international tensions, not heightening them,” it said, adding, “We do hope that the American side wants the same.”

It is unclear so far whether Tillerson will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. The US Embassy told RIA Novosti news agency that the meeting with Lavrov is the only one that has been officially confirmed, while Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, said on Monday that a meeting has not been scheduled.

Later in the day, Peskov once again refused to confirm if a meeting might take place. “I still can’t confirm that,” he was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.

According to previous reports, Tillerson’s visit was initially set up to find common ground and pave the way for rapprochement between Russia and the US. Hopes waned, however, after the US military conducted a massive missile strike on the Shayrat Airbase in Homs Province, Syria.

Washington claimed it is where Syrian jets allegedly carrying chemical weapons munitions took off to launch an assault on a rebel-held town in Idlib Province on April 4. Damascus denied the allegations. Moscow and Beijing have described the US attack as an act of aggression against a sovereign state.

The incident was followed by US claims that Russia bears part of the responsibility for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s policies. In addition, the Pentagon has launched an investigation into Russia’s alleged involvement in the Idlib attack, according to CNN.

Some of us wonder why we live a life of service to others and service to self has been a second fiddle, always on the sidelines.  As a kid at five to twelve, every time our playmate ask for something, anything, I run home to get what he desires.  We find happiness, satisfaction and deep fulfillment when we have given something, a gift, a favor, a service to family, friend or an acquaintance. My friend is more advanced of help to family, he assists his father at a young age to fish and sell  them to buy necessities for home while I get it from our household to share with friends.

We never tire of giving to help someone, even a new person introduced to us by a friend limited by our meager resources.  We favor them with that little attention, that little something, a gift that will make them happy and fulfilled at our expense.  As a little child up to the age of 72,  this has been my life and even my wife asks me why I do this,  give to others, provide and use my limited working time to help others. In a few instances these assistance led to the detriment of my family finance due to  trust afforded others who turn out  to be  a perpetrator or an element of dark beings.  I have lived in the most urban of all areas in PH with a college buddy, intimate of  friends and the two of us turned victims to people of this type.  We had at least  three major  bad personal investments and a lot minor due to what you may call our “trusting behavior to others”. Our innate trust on others turned sour even at our senior years that cost us part of our retirement provisions.

We lived trying years of perseverance what you call hard work and development of professional skills, practical experience or academic, all these years and we still cultivate new skills today. As a door closes a new window of opportunity opens says my friend, Domingo.  As a child,   teenager, collegiate student, professional  and businessmen,  we  have been too trusting.  My close friend-fraternity brother and myself lived the same lives, educating others as child teacher and university lecturers even funding minor scholarships. We have been benefactors despite our shortage of funds to family and friends and sending them to schools even funding a home for them. We gave gifts that we feel we can afford even at times we have to borrow or sell our personal belongings.  We share the same behavior. This must be out of norm  our times,  this 3d timeline as  greed is the number one trait of people I see,  all benefits for themselves, manipulation of men, power over others especially those in big business and the practice of profession. The fact is some of my neighbors question my habit of caring and planting trees, caring for birds, animals  and why I do it.  For me it is but natural to take care of nature as we live with them and  earth carry us, our ever loving satellite…

While the catalyst is unclear, it appears the market dropped as headlines of further sanctions against Russia appeared and reports of China deploying 150,000 troops to its North Korea border.

According to Korean news agency Chosun, the “Chinese army has deployed about 150,000 troops to the North Korean border in two groups to prepare for unforeseen circumstances.” The reason: the prospect of “military options”, such as preemptive attacks on North Korea, like the one the United States launched on Syria.

Breaking Reports: U.S. Forces Entering Syria From Jordanian Border » The Event Chronicle

Reports coming in from Lebanon and Syria are indicating that the United States is not done with its direct assault on Syria even as the al-Sha’aryat airbase that was targeted by American Tomahawk missiles is back up and running.

As independent journalist, Sarah Abdallah, reports, around 20 U.S. armored vehicles have poured across the Jordanian border into Syria. At this time, it remains unclear as to what the purpose of the vehicles might be. Abdallah is based in Lebanon.

Some suggest that the vehicles may simply yet another illegal American incursion into Syria of the routine variety, a prospect that is dangerous enough given current circumstances. However, there is also the possibility that the vehicles are part of something much larger such as an invasion of Syria by the United States, thus putting the U.S. in direct odds and likely military confrontation with both Syrian and Russian forces.

As of yet, there is no clear reason being cited for the incursion.

The Syrian-Jordanian border is located in Southern Syria. Jordan has long supported terrorist forces but to a much less televised extent than that of Saudi Arabia, Israel, U.A.E., Turkey, and Qatar. The incursion comes shortly after a U.S. unilateral attack was launched against the Syrian military in support of ISIS and related terror organizations under the guise of revenge for civilians killed in a gas attack that was questionable to say the least. To date, there has been absolutely no evidence that the Syrian government used chemical weapons against civilians.

If confirmed, this new incursion adds yet another dangerous dimension to the conflict in Syria that could embroil the world in a major conflict.

Just days after Steve Bannon was removed from the principals committee of Trump’s National Security Council, on Sunday the shakeup in Donald Trump’s closest advisory circle continued, when as Bloomberg reports, K T. McFarland was asked to step down as deputy National Security Advisor after less than three months on the job.

She is now slated to become a U.S. ambassador to Singapore, Bloomberg cited a person familiar with White House personnel moves. According to USA Today, the move is seen as a “promotion” because Singapore is a key U.S. ally. The paperwork on her ambassadorial nomination is still being worked out, it adds.

There had been questions about the future of McFarland, a former Fox News commentator, since the February dismissal of Trump’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, the retired three-star general who hired her. The departure of the 65-year-old former TV personality comes as Trump’s second National Security Advisor, Lt General H.R. McMaster, puts his own stamp on the National Security Council after taking over in February following the firing of Michael Flynn…

WASHINGTON (INTELLIHUB) — As the war drums beat in Washington and other parts of the world the people of America are still demanding answers in regards to shady actions taken by top-ranking officials in the Obama Administration to unmask members of the Trump Campaign leading up to the election which allowed for their surveillance.

Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) came forth Friday in a press conference to address Devin Nunes’ departure from the investigation process and and explained how he feels “it’s in the best interest of the investigation.”

Nunes stepped aside due to an ethics investigation which was thrown at him after two left-wing groups filed complaints.

Rep. Schiff acknowledged that while Nunes’ decision was likely a “difficult” one for him to make, he said that the investigation still needs to move forward.

Adding to the controversy, Bloomberg View columnist Eli Lake joined Fox & Friends Saturday to talk about why the Susan Rice scandal is not going away.

“We’ve focused on the unmasking element, now is a legitimate question to sort of say: why was the national security adviser receiving fairly granular, raw, summaries of intelligence that were dealing with the Trump transition?” Lake questioned aloud. “Why was she getting stuff like that to begin with?”
