(Stillness in the Storm Editor) The following article originally appeared on the World Economic Forum. It is a call for a basic income for humanity, something that some consider a viable option to address the financial hardships felt by so many in the modern world. While meeting the basic needs of our human family members should be something we work together for, if the proposal isn’t fair and honest, it likely won’t work. Moreover, if the basic income is provided by a clandestine agency, such as a central bank that uses the government as a distribution entity, then what is demanded of the people to receive this money? In other words, the issuance of a basic income could make the people even more dependent on their plutocratic overlords than ever before—clearly not a beneficial situation..
