Hackers Unleash Second NSA-Developed Cyber-Weapon On Dark Web | Zero Hedge
While a second variant of the WannaCry(pt) ransomware (based on NSA’s EternalBlue exploit) was spreading across the globe yesterday, The FT reports criminal hacking groups have repurposed a second classified cyber weapon stolen from US spies and have made it available on the so-called dark web.
On Monday, the WannaCry attack, which hit 370,000 computers across 150 countries, appeared to slow. Europol, the European police agency, said the spread of the virus had stalled in Europe. But while infection rates have slowed, a Europol spokeswoman warned, “we do not think this is the end of the crisis. The hackers have already evolved the malware, and will probably continue to do so.”
Notably as Europe woke up (and US opened), the infection rate started to rise once again…
But as The FT reports, intelligence and law-enforcement officials said they fear WannaCry may foreshadow a wave of similarly damaging attacks, as criminals and others race to make use of digital weapons that for years were only available to the most technologically sophisticated nation states.
At least a dozen other NSA tools are currently being discussed and worked on as the basis of potential new cyber weapons on hacking forums on the dark web, parts of the internet not accessible via normal search engines.
The hacking tool, developed by the US National Security Agency and called EsteemAudit, has been adapted and is now available for criminal use, according to security analysts.
As with the NSA’s EternalBlue, the tool on which WannaCry was based, EsteemAudit exploits a vulnerability in older versions of Microsoft’s Windows software in the way in which networked machines communicate with each other…

FBI Joins Trump’s “Deep State” Counterattack To Horror Of “Fake News” Media

An absolutely stunning new Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has now joined forces with President Donald Trump against his “Deep State” enemies by counterattacking the US mainstream “fake news” propaganda media and conclusively proving that the Hillary Clinton and Democratic Party emails leaked to Wikileaks were done by the now murdered Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich—and as the SVR had first truthfully reported about on 13 July 2016. [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]
According to this report, in a move designed to completely destroy the “Russia Hacking” meme of the 2016 US presidential election, late yesterday the FBI confirmed through its leaking of a forensic examination report of Seth Rich’s computer that within 96 hours of his being assassinated at around 4:19 AM on 10 July 2016, he had been in contact with Wikileaks through the, also, now dead Gavin MacFadyen—an American journalist who was on the Board of Directors of Wikileaks.
With Hillary Clinton’s campaign director John Podesta having previously warned, on 22 February 2015, that he was “definitely for making an example of a suspected leaker whether or not we have any real basis for it”, this report continues, upon Seth Rich being assassinated it was no large investigative chore to discover who had ordered him killed—with Wikileaks itself offering a $130,000 reward for his assassins capture,
As to why the assassins of Seth Rich were not apprehended, though, this report explains, was revealed by Rod Wheeler, a former DC homicide detective and Fox News contributor whose private investigation firm was hired by Rich’s family to probe the case, and who confirmed that Rich was shot from behind, but was not robbed, and chilling stated: “My investigation shows someone within the D.C. government, Democratic National Committee or Clinton team is blocking the murder investigation from going forward”.
With the FBI anonymously confirming yesterday that 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments between Democratic National Committee leaders (spanning from January 2015 through late May 2016) were transferred from Seth Rich to Wikileaks Director Gavin MacFadyen before 21 May 2016, this report notes, it brings into sharper clarity why “Deep State” leader, and former FBI Director, James Comey was desperately offering a young Russian hacker named Yevgeniy Nikulin US citizenship, a free apartment and up to $15 million if he lied and said President Putin ordered the hacking of these Hillary Clinton computers hacked—but which Nikulin refused to do.

*The claimed microbial infections and hospitalizations taken from various U.S public outbreak data only had small numbers and were merely used as estimates. In the report, the CDC stated that on average, 760 illnesses and 22 hospitalizations in a year were due to dairy consumption. Of these cases, the CDC claimed that 96% were due to raw milk contamination...

Governments and companies around the world began to gain the upper hand against the first wave of the unrivaled global cyberattack this morning.
More than 200,000 computers in at least 150 countries have so far been infected, according to Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency. The U.K.’s National Cyber Security Centre said new cases of so-called ransomware are possible “at a significant scale.”
“For now, it does not look like the number of infected computers is increasing,” said a Europol spokesman. “We will get a decryption tool eventually, but for the moment, it’s still a live threat and we’re still in disaster recovery mode.”
The initial attack was stifled when a security researcher disabled a key mechanism used by the worm to spread, but experts warned the hackers were likely to mount a second attack because so many users of personal computers with Microsoft operating systems couldn’t or didn’t download a security patch released in March that Microsoft had labeled “critical.”
“I will confess that I was unaware registering the domain would stop the malware until after I registered it, so initially it was accidental,” wrote the researcher, who uses the Twitter name @MalwareTechBlog.
“So long as the domain isn’t revoked, this particular strain will no longer cause harm, but patch your systems ASAP as they will try again.”
But the world is still digging out…
Europol executive director Rob Wainwright told Britain’s ITV television on Sunday that the attack had been “unprecedented”. ”We’ve never seen anything like this,” he said…
