Obama is the only president in US history to preside over 8 straight years of constant warfare. And during that time, the threats to our national security only increased, with the rise of ISIS to one of the greatest terroristic threats facing the free world today.

The vacuum created in Iraq by Obama’s ill-timed withdrawal of the troops led to the rise of the Sunni-dominated ISIS, and Obama did little to fix the problem, although he ISIS did provide a convenient justification for even further increases in the national security state.

In the following video, Right Wing News looks at a recent interview with the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who revealed that during Obama’s time, Saudi Arabia had offered direct military assistance to combat ISIS in Syria.

Since Obama’s policy in Syria was ‘no military boots on the ground’, you would think that having the option of Saudi troops in Syria would have been a great boon to the efforts toward eradicating ISIS. Obama’s response was to refuse such help, another testament to his total incompetence. Of course, don’t expect the dishonest media to widely report on this…

Germany Threaten Facebook With ‘Huge Fines’ If They Don’t Remove Alternative News – Your News Wire

Germany will impose fines of up to 50 million euros if Facebook don’t remove alternative news content from their platform. 

A new law being drafted will see social media firms face hefty fines if they take longer than seven days to remove content that German authorities deem to be “illegal” – including so-called fake news.

Germany’s justice minister, Heiko Mass, says that social media giants such as Facebook have not done enough to tackle content that the government deems ‘subversive’.

BBC News reports:

The proposal requires sites to run 24-hour helplines and to delete flagged content within seven days.

‘Utterly impossible’

Social media firms such as Twitter and Facebook were getting better at handling illegal content, said Mr Maas, but both had a long way to go.

Mr Maas quoted research which suggested Twitter deletes only 1% of the hate speech it is told about by users, and Facebook, 39%.

“This isn’t sufficient yet,” said Mr Maas.

Racism and hate speech are believed to have become more prevalent on German social media following the arrival of large number of refugees in Germany.

Any content that was “clearly criminal” would have to be removed within 24 hours under conditions outlined in the draft law. If, after an investigation, content is found to be criminal then that must be removed in seven days. The people who posted the illegal content must also be told about its deletion.

The proposed law would require each network to run fully staffed, round-the-clock reporting systems and to name an individual responsible for handling complaints. That person could face an individually levied fine of five million euros if companies break laws governing what can be published.

Mr Maas said the law could apply to fake news articles if they proved to be slanderous, defamatory or libellous.

Facebook did not comment directly on the proposal but said tests it commissioned showed it removed a higher percentage of illegal content than Mr Maas claimed. The social network said it expected to have 700 people employed in Berlin by the end of 2017 overseeing its efforts to review flagged content.

German digital trade association Bitkom criticised the proposed law. It told the Financial Times that the requirement to remove material within 24 hours on sites that handle more than one billion posts per day was “utterly impossible to implement in operational terms”.

Google Army To Flag Conspiracy Theory Sites In Fight Against Alt Media

Google has hired a 10,000 strong social justice army to flag sites from their search results that they deem “conspiracy”, “offensive”, or “fake news.”

In a move to completely eradicate all traces of independent journalism and alternative media websites from the web, Google has begun the process of compiling a list of all offending sites so that they can “de-rank” them from their search results.

The search engine giant is hoping to address complaints from left-wing media organisations that they allowed so-called ‘fake news’ to dominate the search results and thus influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. According to Google’s senior engineer, Paul Haahr, an army of quality raters will be tasked with ensuring that websites peddling conspiracy theories or generally offensive content, are put onto a blacklist so that Google can begin removing them from the web…

Marine Le Pen blasted a French reporter on Tuesday, accusing the mainstream media in Europe of peddling “fake news.”

The outspoken politician accused liberal media in France and across Europe of spreading globalist propaganda when asked by the reporter if she thought the internet was a bad place for audiences to get their information.

The reporter told Le Pen that she thought the internet was riddled with fake news, ‘conspiracy theories’, and alternative news websites. This prompted Le Pen to blast the reporter for her hypocrisy.

Marine Le Pen is the current favourite to win the upcoming French presidential election in April, and has come under fire by the establishment media and political system due to her outspoken anti-globalist views.

The European Parliament recently threatened to prosecute the Eurosceptic candidate after she criticised ISIS on Twitter in a blatant attempt to end her political career and silence her forever.

A far-left professor at Harvard University claims that all independent media websites that don’t subscribe to far-left ideology must be considered ‘fake news’ by default. 

A list of ‘fake news’ sites has been given to students at Harvard University, with the instruction that they study the list and make a note of the almost 1,000 independent, conservative, and center-right websites listed and ensure they are never circulated online.

According to professor Melissa Zimdars, sites such as Your News Wire, Breitbart, InfoWars, and the Drudge Report should all be banned from the internet due to their counter-narrative of mainstream liberal outlets such as Buzzfeed and CNN – a “crime” she says worthy of censorship.

Dailycaller.com reports:

The Daily Caller, The Drudge Report, Breitbart News, The Washington Examiner, The Washington Free Beacon, Independent Journal Review (IJR), The Blaze and The Weekly Standard are all on the list, deemed illegitimate for reasons such as “clickbait,” “bias,” or “unreliable.”

Liberal news sources like BuzzFeed, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Vox.com and Salon aren’t on the list.

The list, compiled by Merrimack College associate professor Melissa Zimdars, is recommended to students as part of a Harvard library guide on “Fake News, Misinformation, and Propaganda.”

The list is linked under a banner titled, “Identifying Fake News Sites.” A comment next to the link calls the document a “Huge list of fake news sites.”

As previously reported, liberal journalists have struggled to come up with a concise definition of “fake news,” even as they declare war on it.

Some liberal journalists have lumped in legitimate news organizations with objectively false websites, leading to concerns that a crackdown on “fake news” will be used by liberals to silence their conservative counterparts.

As previously reported by The Daily Caller, data shows that, despite a media freak-out, fake news websites actually struggle to reach any sort of real audience.

The Harvard University library did not immediately return TheDC’s request for comment.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has issued a scathing attack against the anti-Russian hysteria being perpetuated by the mainstream media in the West, urging Democrats to stop their disinformation campaign. 

Peskov told CNN on Sunday that certain mainstream media outlets in the U.S. were deliberately spreading ‘fake news’ in order to create an irrational and baseless fear about Russia in the minds of the American public.

His comments come days after Senator Richard Blumenthal announced he would be appointing a special prosecutor to probe Russia’s alleged role in hacking the U.S. election – a claim that has been disproven by the recent Wikileaks Vault 7 release.

According to a recent CNN/ORC poll, 65 percent of the respondents (82 percent of Democrats and 43 percent of Republicans) support the idea of appointing a special prosecutor to investigate these issues.

“Yes, we do worry… If you load the public opinion with a huge burden of fake news, of these fake blamings on Russia, if you repeat every day numerous times that Russia is guilty of everything, Russia is interfering, Russia is trying to hack everything in our country and everything that goes wrong in our country is because of Russia, if you repeat it… than you will have more than 65 percent.”

“So, we consider it a real danger for the future of our bilateral relationship. We sincerely want to see this hysteria coming to its logic end,” Peskov said.

Peskov also refuted any allegations about so-called Russia’s involvement in US election process and said that Russia did not cooperate with Trump’s staff during the election campaign.

In a recent report on alleged Russian meddling in November’s US presidential election, US intelligence agencies claimed “with high confidence” that Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) used Guccifer 2.0 hacker, as well as the DCLeaks.com website, to hack computers belonging to both major US political parties and release the obtained information in an effort to covertly influence the election and help Donald Trump win.

Russian government officials have repeatedly denied accusations of interfering in the US election, including charges of hacking DNC systems.

According to internet sleuths reading through the Vault 7 release on Tuesday, there are three theories about who was behind the Russian hacking scandal and why:

Theory 1: White Hats inside the intelligence agencies did it to help Trump.

Theory 2: An internal war within the Deep State especially regarding Clinton’s crimes and cover-ups of Benghazi, email security breaches, etc.

Theory 3: The DEEP STATE actors wanted to both take down Hillary and frame Trump vis a vis the ‘Russians hacked the election’ meme. (Aaron Kesel) Facebook is releasing a new feature to combat fake news that will allow users to report content as fake – but it’s the people behind the ministry of truth that’s worrying.

Facebook began testing these “features” in December according to Mashable. Facebook users can now mark a story in their newsfeed as fake.

This will result in a story having a disputed by “Fact-checkers” popup under its title along with a link to a corresponding article explaining why it might be false, as seen by a Gizmodo reporter on Twitter.

These posts will then appear lower in the news feed, throttled by Facebook’s algorithm, and users will receive a warning before sharing the story on their Facebook feeds, RT reported.

Although, the Seattle Tribune isn’t an alternative media source and is indeed a satire site as noted by their own disclaimer policy this could have dangerous repercussions for alternative media.

A stunning Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that Deputy Director Maria Zakharova has notified all Federation Departments, Ministries and Embassies that they are to immediately cancel all hardcopy and digital subscriptions to The New York Times as this leftist newspaper publication has now been labeled as “fake news” and is, in fact, to now be considered as propaganda no longer able to be relied upon for truthful or accurate information.  [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]
